Breese Pitt Dixon music case study
Point Cook Gardens Estate, Point Cook Victoria
Begun in 1998, Point Cook Gardens Estate comprises over 1000 allotments and contains a wetlands, for water quality control, of more than 5 hectares. Other major reserves provide extra open space. Board walks surround the wetlands area, creating a tranquil environment.
The project incorporated a couple of challenges. There were ground water issues and construction of the wetlands was not straight forward. The site carried high salt levels, so salt-resistant plants had to be used.
music was used to size the stormwater treatment facility, allowing BDP to reach water quality objectives within the area allocated.
